who'd been withdrawn from the Wokingham after getting loose at the start, was strong in the betting and got back on the up in the style of a sprinter that we have still to see the best of; chased leader, travelled well, led over 1f out, kept up to work; he'll pick up a penalty for the Stewards' Cup, but will go there with a more upwardly-mobile profile than most.

A useful handicap that looks solid form, Tanmawwy getting back on the up to get the better of one who was well treated on his 3-y-o form with a recent C&D winner claiming the last place.

TANMAWWY (IRE) who'd been withdrawn from the Wokingham after getting loose at the start, was strong in the betting and got back on the up in the style of a sprinter that we have still to see the best of; chased leader, travelled well, led over 1f out, kept up to work; he'll pick up a penalty for the Stewards' Cup, but will go there with a more upwardly-mobile profile than most.

STERLING KNIGHT ran at least as well in defeat as when winning over C&D the time before, the combination of a higher mark and better company proving too much; held up, pushed along 2f out, headway out wide inside final 1f, ran on.

EXPERT AGENT got back on track after 7 weeks off this time, shaping as if likely to finish a bit closer still for a long way in against his elders for the first time; chased leaders, pushed along around halfway, weakened inside final 1f.

APHELIOS had excuses for his Newmarket flop and probably needed the run after 11 weeks off; mid-field, pushed along 2f out, one paced; likely to be close to his peak next time.

SILVER SAMURAI is yet to fire this season, forcing connections to experiment to try and perk him up, the headgear he wore last time replaced by a tongue strap but with no discernible difference; dwelt, raced off the pace, pushed along over 2f out, never a threat.

DORA PENNY failed to come on for recent run; dwelt, raced off the pace, pushed along over 2f out, headway when hung right over 1f out, effort flattened out.

DIG TWO (IRE) in first-time tongue strap alongside his usual headgear, underperformed after 7 weeks off and has gone the wrong way from a reasonably promising reappearance/stable debut; dwelt, mid-field, pushed along halfway, weakened over 1f out.
