The winner had a better chance than his odds implied but the margin of victory is hard to fathom and almost certainly a bit flattering, nothing else seeing the race out with any purpose.

WINTER FOG (IRE) had every chance on his best form and, despite being friendless in the market, appeared to sur even that in running out an easy winner, though it's doubtful that any of his rivals ran to their rating; chased leaders, lost place briefly 4 out, good progress end of back straight, led 2 out, quickened clear.

SHECOULDBEANYTHING (IRE) probably remains in form but ended up being beaten a long way into second; waited with, third when shaken up after 3 out, took second run-in, no impression on winner.

MINX TIARA (IRE) shaped better than the distance beaten suggests, the effort of trying to make all again telling on her late on; raced clear, reduced advantage end of back straight, headed 2 out, lost second run-in, tied up.

SENECIA (IRE) ran one of his lesser races; held up, effort after 3 out, merely plugged on.

DADDY LONG LEGS (FR) proved to be a disappointment after 9 weeks off, something seemingly not right; waited with, not fluent fourth, headway 4 out, lost place when not fluent 3 out, soon done with, eased off.

HARSH faced a stiffer task in this grade but ran badly even so; in touch, hampered soon after start, not fluent sixth, driven soon after, behind when clouted 3 out.

SUPRISE PACKAGE fit from the Flat; unseated rider soon after start.

NO LOOKING BACK (IRE) had the winner here behind him last time but followed that with a poor effort in first-time cheekpieces; chased leader, folded after 3 out, pulled up before 2 out.
