The last 2 winners of this have gone on to win the Dawn Run at the Festival but this lesser renewal is unlikely to have a bearing on that contest, a fairly useful effort proving enough to see the winner get the better of the front-running favourite as the pair came clear from 2 out.

SPRINGTIME PROMISE (IRE) improved again as she overcame the rise in class; chased leader, ridden before 2 out, jumped on last, responded well; she'll stay 3m and it's hard to see her emulating the last 2 winners on this race if taking up her Dawn Run entry at Cheltenham, her own stable harbouring a much stronger contender in Dysart Enos.

CHERIE D'AM (FR) ran creditably but seemed beaten on merit, her finishing effort arguably not matching the way she went through the race, though that could be harsh and at least there was no tail-flashing on show this time; made running, travelled best, shaken up after 2 out, headed last, switched flat, one paced.

SMILING GETAWAY essentially didn't seem up to this better company; in touch, ridden before 2 out, one paced.

ASTON MARTINI lost unbeaten record, softer ground perhaps blunting her; held up, headway before 2 out, shaken up there, no further impression.

EITHER OR (IRE) up in grade, ran badly; off pace from second, outpaced fourth, pulled up before 2 out, possibly amiss.

JEUNE BELLE (IRE) faced a stiff task but again failed even to make it to the finish, lack of stamina plausibly playing some part; mid-division, pushed along after 3 out, weakened after next.

LITTLE MISS DANTE ran poorly, her finishing effort in contrast to the one she produced at Haydock 8 weeks previously; held up, outpaced 3 out, weakened last.
