had run in a red-hot Vintage Stakes the time before and had little issue stamping his class over this field, this probably at least on a par form-wise with his narrow defeat in the July Stakes; mid-field, smooth headway over 2f out, produced to lead soon after, quickened clear, won easily; he'll have options over both 6f and 7f back up in grade now.

found things not going absolutely ideally after 7 weeks off once her jockey had decided to take the trail from Sir Boris, not that she would have troubled the very useful winner regardless; led early, settled in touch after 2f, forced to switch under 2f out, kept on, no match for winner.

back up in grade, has now produced 8 straight performances in the 90s on Timeform ratings, clearly consistent, though equally a clear ceiling he's struggled to push through, at least over this trip (well worth another try over 7f); held up off stand rail, pushed along before halfway, plugged on.

underperformed, up in grade, on less testing ground and on a new track, the last of those possibly the most significant given how uncomfortable he looked when shaken up; led after 2f, headed when hung left around 2f out, left behind by principals final 1f.

up in grade, had her winning run ended, clearly running some way below her Super Sprint form; handy, led briefly around 2f out, not quicken soon after.
