All bar 2 of these had run at listed level or higher at 2 yrs and at least half of them looked well short of the standard required, the winner probably not having to improve much on her efforts in defeat at Group 2 level to land the spoils from an unbeaten pair up in grade, the trio 3 of the 8 Guineas entry in the line-up, though it's hard to see any of the principals having a major impact back here in little over a fortnight.

SACRED runner-up 3 times in Group 2 company at 2 yrs, probably didn't have to improve much to gain a first win since debut, a step up in trip and a tongue strap first time perhaps helping; held up, travelled well, effort over 2f out, quickened to lead entering final 1f, kept on, pushed out; she has a pedigree of contrasts and is perhaps the least likely of the first 3 to benefit from going up to 1m, still likely to take her chance in the Guineas, this form short of what will be required for that.

SAFFRON BEACH (IRE) had won at this level last autumn, but in a weak race for the grade, and she found some improvement, despite meeting defeat for the first time; tracked pace, took keen hold, shaken up 2f out, every chance entering final 1f, kept on; she'll need to improve a fair bit to make an impact in the Guineas, though she seems sure to benefit from the extra 1f.

LOVE IS YOU (IRE) wasn't disgraced, though as form pick and warm favourite might have been expected to do better, seeming unsuited by less of a test than when winning in listed company on her second start at 2 yrs; in touch, effort when not clear run 2f out, not quicken, kept on inside final 1f; she will be well suited by a return to 1m.

CHOCOYA ran about as well as could have been expected upped in grade, though she shapes like a sprinter and the return to 7f wasn't necessarily in her favour, a race or 2 in her at the right level; close up, went with enthusiasm, led after 2f, headed entering final 1f, one paced; will benefit from return to 6f.

STAR OF EMARAATY (IRE) ran about as well as could be expected on first outing since leaving Kevin Ryan, her rider giving her an easy time once her chance had gone; held up, shaken up halfway, headway 2f out, not quicken final 1f, not knocked about.

DIVINE LIGHT (IRE) has a good pedigree and won her only start at 2 yrs, but that form has worked out badly and she actually found some improvement, despite the grade being a bit much for her at this stage; handy, ridden over 2f out, not quicken approaching final 1f; will stay 1m.

SEATTLE ROCK a maiden, ran her best race, shaping better than the distance beaten suggests, coming from a hopeless position; in rear, still plenty to do over 2f out, shaken up after, kept on final 1f, nearest at the finish; will stay beyond 1m.

VENTURA DIAMOND (IRE) wasn't sure to be suited by the return to 7f and ran below her best, that form shown on very different going; led first 2f, close up after, shaken up 3f out, weakened final 1f; she's likely to prove best at sprint distances.

MAMBA WAMBA (IRE) was well held, out of her depth and much too keen anyway; held up, pulled hard, ridden under 3f out, left behind 2f out.

TAWAHUB making turf debut, was well held, up in grade, free to post and in the race itself; held up, not settle fully, labouring over 2f out.
