GORANE (IRE) showed much improved form after 6 months off, taking the step up in grade and switch to turf in her stride; in touch, travelled well, edged ahead 1f out, headed final 100 yds; may do better still.

INTELLIGENCE CROSS (USA) shaped as if still in good form, looking unsuited by the drop back to sprint trips, though he's also more exposed than the front pair and will likely remain vulnerable to improvers; held up, ridden over 2f out, stayed on inside final 1f, never nearer; will benefit from return to 7f+.

ALPHABET up in grade, shaped better than the bare result, very much catching the eye by the way she travelled into the race; handy, loomed up from halfway, disputed lead 2f out, no extra well inside final 1f; remains with potential, she looks all about sprinting for now and may well benefit from a drop to 5f.

DE BOSS MAN (IRE) wasn't disgraced back in listed company, looking ready for a stiffer test now; mid-field, driven halfway, kept on over 1f out; likely to stay 7f.

MR SCARLET wasn't disgraced, probably just not up to this better company for all he's entitled to be better for the run after 9 months off; mid-division, pushed along over 2f out, one paced.

RADIO SILENCE (USA) back down in trip, looked rusty after 8 months off; waited with, outpaced, plugged on from 2f out.

CHILDHOOD (USA) shaped as if needing the run in first-time visor after 6 months off; held up, travelled better than most, shaken up 2f out, not quicken final 1f; created a good impression as a juvenile and she remains with potential.

MIRDIF after 11 weeks off, again finished well held; handy, weakened from 2f out.

DANDYMAN PORT (IRE) went backwards from reappearance; in rear, never involved.

KOCOLLADA (IRE) was well held on first outing since leaving Richard Fahey after 5 months off, faced a stiff task; mid-division, made little impression.

PSYCHEDELIC FUNK a useful 2-y-o at best, was beaten by more than absence after 7 months off and is left with something to prove all of a sudden; in rear, went with little fluency, beaten around halfway.

SOULS IN THE WIND (IRE) was flying too high in this grade, again showing signs of temperament; mid-field, weakened from 2f out, flashed tail.
