was ridden in starkly contrasting fashion to most other starts this season and bounced back to his best to take advantage of a mark that had fallen, seen to maximum effect ridden as he was; prominent, went with zest, upsides from fifth, drew clear after 5 out, in command from next, driven out; he'll be back to the sort of mark he's likely to be vulnerable from next time.

ran an odd race after 7 weeks off, going without his usual hood and seeming to completely lose concentration early on the final circuit; close up, lost place ninth, behind next (seemed more likely to be tailed off than placed at that point), headway again early in straight, stayed on, went second close home; he continues to give the impression there's a bigger performance in him and, on balance, is probably worth another chance with headgear back on.

An early incident took out a couple and the way the race developed meant a few others weren't seen to best advantage, though that's not to denigrate the performance of Romain de Senam at all, clearly back to his very best under a ride that saw him to maximum effect, sent clear after 5 out and having things under control all the way up the straight, the next 3 home all leaving the impression they're in good heart.

ROMAIN DE SENAM (FR) was ridden in starkly contrasting fashion to most other starts this season and bounced back to his best to take advantage of a mark that had fallen, seen to maximum effect ridden as he was; prominent, went with zest, upsides from fifth, drew clear after 5 out, in command from next, driven out; he'll be back to the sort of mark he's likely to be vulnerable from next time.
