DEAUVILLE (IRE) back at a more realistic level, returned to form but found one too good in this contest for the second year in a row, though could hardly have done any more, beaten on the nod; made running, ridden entering straight, worn down near line; will remain a force in lesser pattern company.

HAZAPOUR (IRE) back down in trip after failing to stay in the Epsom Derby last time, proved a let-down on the firmest ground he has encountered to date, no extra late on having been close enough if good enough 1f out; mid-division, headway entering straight, effort 2f out, found less than looked likely; was reportedly being aimed at the Irish Champion Stakes but it is a case of back to the drawing board after this.

CURLY (IRE) asked a big question straight out of maiden company, improved another chunk, looking very much at home in this grade, likely to have been placed in another couple of strides; waited with, ridden 2f out, stayed on, nearest at the finish; will stay 1¼m and further improvement can't be ruled out.
