proved better than ever as he resumed winning ways back over 6f, rather belatedly making a breakthrough at this level; disputed lead, ridden approaching 2f out, went on entering final 1f, kept on well; has done well since switched to these tactics and he should remain competitive in Group company.

wasn't seen to best effect in a race where a handy position seemed vital, almost certainly remains in good form; held up, travelled as well as any, shaken up over 1f out, not quicken, unsuited by the way the race developed.

had showed up better in the July Cup last time, but the tongue tie was re-applied here and he failed by a long chalk to build on that effort down in grade, leaving him with it all to prove now, his oustanding 2-y-o form a distant memory; mid-field, folded tamely 2f out.

Air Force Blue was a bitter disappointment as he trailed in last, meaning this was just about an up-to-scratch sprint for the grade, though there seemed a big advantage to be on the speed, with the race only ever concerning the placed trio.

TOSCANINI (IRE) proved better than ever as he resumed winning ways back over 6f, rather belatedly making a breakthrough at this level; disputed lead, ridden approaching 2f out, went on entering final 1f, kept on well; has done well since switched to these tactics and he should remain competitive in Group company.
