was well backed, his December beating of Morning Royalty receiving a form boost earlier on the card, and duly resumed winning ways, now unbeaten on all 3 visits here, though he made hard work of things; ridden more patiently than usual, raced wide, ridden twelfth, driven approaching 4 out, led 2 out, edged right/idled run-in, just held on; should prove suited by further than 3m and is worth a try in headgear based on this effort.

improved further upped in trip; led until fourth, led again after 4 out, ridden when headed 2 out, rallied well run-in (albeit shade flattered by proximity to idling winner); should stay long distances and likely to progress further, well up to winning a similar event, worth ing he was competitive from higher marks than this over hurdles.

A disappointng turnout for this novice handicap and the early gallop was unsurprisingly on the steady side; the winner seemed in control jumping the last, but he desperately needed the line to repel the late rally of Kilbree Chief.
