had gone up a further 9 lb but it wasn't enough to prevent her bringing up the 4-timer, value for extra, too, given the ground she had to make up; slowly into stride, held up, travelled well, pushed along 2f out, headway over 1f out, led close home; she's useful now but that doesn't mean she's finished improving or that the handicapper has got her measure.

found one too good once more but is shaping up well and just needs a change of luck to go one better, nothing wrong with his attitude despite some uncomfortable looking form figures, the bump he took off the front runner arguably costing him more than the ground he was beaten; close up, pushed along over 2f out, led over 1f out, bumped soon after, headed late on.

The profiles of several of these suggest it's a race that ought to work out, but the bare form shouldn't be taken literally, the progressive winner doing well to get there from off an ordinary gallop, while some of those that were close up suffered interference, the second and third at the hands of the errant Batal Zabeel and the fifth squeezed out by the runner-up and fourth.

ALFA KELLENIC had gone up a further 9 lb but it wasn't enough to prevent her bringing up the 4-timer, value for extra, too, given the ground she had to make up; slowly into stride, held up, travelled well, pushed along 2f out, headway over 1f out, led close home; she's useful now but that doesn't mean she's finished improving or that the handicapper has got her measure.
