Fifty Nifty was unable to reward strong on his return to action but he shaped promisingly in second in a warm race to leave the impression that he's still a well-handicapped horse who should be winning again before long. Fifty Nifty couldn't get on with Ten Pounds, who made all against the favoured near rail, but he stuck to his task well without ever looking like overhauling the front-runner who was a progressive sort as a three-year-old and raised his game again on his return. The way Fifty Nifty kept on suggests that he will benefit from stepping back up to a mile, and he remains with untapped potential after only five starts.

Organ (82+)

Third, 7f handicap, Newmarket, Thursday 17 April

Organ had finished behind several winners when fifth at Newbury on his final start as a two-year-old and he shaped with plenty of encouragement in third on his reappearance and handicap debut at Newmarket. Organ wasn't ideally positioned towards the centre of the track - the first two home raced in the smaller far side group - and he also looked unbalanced in the Dip when trying to make headway over a furlong out. He can have his effort upgraded and is bred to be suited by a step up in trip so will be one to look out for when upped to a mile.

Tuco Salamanca (90+)

Fourth, 6f handicap, Newcastle, Friday 18 April

Tuco Salamanca looked unlucky not to push the winner close in the 3-Year-Old Championships on All-Weather Finals Day as he was beaten less than a length and a half in fourth despite getting no sort of run until the race was all but over. Tuco Salamanca had won over an extended mile three starts ago and was tackling a bare six furlongs for the first time, but he impressed with how he travelled and was still going well over a furlong out when denied a run. He finished with a flourish when in the clear and left the impression that he's still on a good mark despite having already won three times this year and climbed the handicap as a consequence. Clearly a versatile sort regards trip, connections should have plenty of options.
